Mr. Vernon Caldwell Kinley, Jr. 56, of Wood Beam Court, Charlotte, died February 23, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Vernon C. Kinley, Sr. and Vernell Moore Little.

Mr. Kinley was retired from the Merchant Marines and was a member of Harvest Chapel, Indian Trail, NC.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Bartlett Kinley of the home; daughter, Sonya Kinley of Charlotte, Jason Kinley of Indian Trail and Chris Kinley of Huntersville, Step-mother Elizabeth Kinley of Darlington, SC; and brother, Ralph Little, Jr. of Mt. Holly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinley was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Kinley.

Interment was in Forest Lawn West.
