We are saddened to announce the passing of our classmate, Jerry Joe Wylie, in 2016. His obituary was posted in The Charlotte Observer as follows:

Jerry "Joe" Wylie, Jr., age 63 passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Charlotte, NC on September 27, 1952 to the late Jerry and Patsy Wylie. Mr. Wylie graduated from Harding High School. Joe worked for Wylie Construction Company the majority of his life. He had a passion for his motor cycles, NASCAR racing and playing pool. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sylvia "Gayle" Wylie; sons, Kenneth Wylie (Shelly Howard), Kevin Wylie (wife Barbara), and Stephen Wylie (wife Amber); five grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother, James "Benny" Wylie. A memorial service, and celebration of Joe's life, is to be conducted at a later date for family and friends.
