Timmonsville- James Henry "Butch" Mixson, Jr . 63, died after a brief illness in a local Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Byrd Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.Visitation will begin at 11:30 until 1:00 before the service.

Mr. Mixson was born in Chester County, the son of the late James H. Mixson, Sr. and the late Nettie Sawyer Clark. He served in the US Navy from 1970-1974.He was a Mason and a member of the Oasis Shriners.Butch worked with the Housing Authority of Florence as a maintenance technician.

Surviving are a sister, Gail Swanger (Charles Helms), Cramerton, NC; and a host of niecesand nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Mixson Walker.
