Gaylord was a good friend. I'll always remember working w/ Gaylord & others on homework problems in the cafeteria after we finished eating. He was a very intelligent guy & he had a real good sense of humor too; part of why I liked calling him a friend. Gaylord also blew a mean "sax". I'll never foget the talent show in our Sr yr & Gaylord did some beautiful solo stuff. May you never lose the peace & tranquility that I'm betting you moved on to. God bless you Gaylord, you were a cool dude.

I'm sorry to say I don't remember Gaylord, but I do think it is amazing that considering he left us in 2016 that you are taking the time to honor his memory.  I too hope he is enjoying peace and maybe my son is playing trombone with him!

I was sorry to learn (a few years late) that Gaylord had marched on. In high school, we lived in the same neighborhood and used to share walks to and from the bus stop at Five Corners. While I remember him as a tall, friendly teenager with an exuberance for life, there’s one memory I’ve always cherished of Gaylord. He once told me that when he finished school, he wanted to be a traffic cop because he loved the white gloves they wore along with the gestures and flourishes they performed as they directed traffic. I was touched to learn that Gaylord had spent his career and life immersed in music as a teacher and musician. As a band and choir director, he achieved his dream to gesture, flourish, and direct kids on the road to pursuing their own dreams.

I remember Gaylord very well. He was a talented musician, drummer. And he was kind and humble. I'm thankful  our paths crossed.
