A post from Facebook on Sept. 7, 2010:
"To all of Mike's friends. It is with deep regret that I must tell you that Mike passed away peacefully in his home Sunday evening (9/5/10). My name is David Nash. I am the executor of his estate and am posting this per his direction to me. I am on facebook. Feel free to contact me here. Personally, I am devastated at the loss of my dear friend. He will be missed by all...rest in peace my friend."
There is much speculation and many questions about Mikes death. He died as a result of a long, chronic illness. Mike broke his neck in 1992 and as a result, suffered unbearable pain from fibromyalgia. Recently, he had developed a lung infection and fluid around his heart. Mike died peacefully, quietly and painlessly in his home. Rather than speculate about how he died, I ask that we all remember how he lived...

I was looking forward to seeing Mike. In Enderly Park when my legs went bad Mike would bring me my homework so I wouldn't get behind in my class. Off and own for 3 years Mike helped me, I wish I had had the chance to tell him again how much that meant to me. That should remind us all never let the ones we care about not know how they have touched our lives. Thank You Mike, my friend. Sheila

I had seen Mike last year at one of my friends wedding anniversary party. It was a pleasure seeing him after alot of years. He even talked about a pending reunion and he was very excited. He is surely going to be missed. May he rest in peace. Tom Tracy

I am so sorry to hear that Mike has died. He and I ran into one another years ago while out shopping and had a brief reconnection. We were FB friends as well. I have to laugh as I remember a ninth grade event we attended together. We were so nervous that we didn't even speak! Such teenage angst!

My prayers go out to the ones he left behind. I know he has blessed them with many memories as he did all of us at HHS. GOD BLESS....

Very sad to hear about Mike. I have not seen him since school, but have always remembered the happy times we shared at HHS. May God comfort his family at this time.

I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE LOSS OF MIKE. HE IS ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS I HAVE EVER MET. I WILL MISS HIM NOT BEING WITH US AT OUR REUNION. HE WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
