We have recently learned that William Leverne McCollie passed away in 2013. We are sorry for the loss. His obituary was posted in The Charlotte Observer:

"William 'Monk' McCollie 61, of Charlotte, passed on April 23, 2013 at Wake Forest Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Grier Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at York Memorial Park. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Betty McCollie; daughter, Sheleatha McCollie; sons, William White, Donnell Street, and Michael Street; mother, Mrs. Mary McCollie; brothers, Wilbert McCollie, James McCollie and Raymond McCollie (Julia); sisters, Mary Davis Kennan and Phyllis Flax; granchildren, nieces, nephews, uncle, Willie Davis of Akron, Ohio and aunt, Mrs. Sarah Leach of Charlotte. Grier Funeral Service is in charge."
